Dr. Marvin Parli

Marvin came to Winfield First Baptist from First Baptist Church in Elkins, West Virginia, where he served as pastor for 24 years. Prior to that, he pastored churches in Indiana and served as a pastoral counselor at hospitals in Kentucky. Marvin graduated from Baylor University and earned his advanced degrees from seminaries in Louisville, Ky., and Chicago. Parli’s specialties include leadership, pastoral care, preaching, teaching and conflict management. He has extensive experience in the areas of church growth, curriculum and devotional writing, marriage and family counseling, ministry with children and youth, and senior adult program development. Though he has spent most of his career working in the eastern United States, Parli was born in Kansas. His wife Dottie is an elementary school teacher. The Parlis have two adult sons.
